18 Sustainable Staples We’re Layering For Our Fall 2021 Capsule Wardrobe

What We’re Wearing This Fall

We’re ready for autumn—bring on long neighborhood walks and wilderness hikes, followed by cozying up with spice-infused herbal teas. Our style this season merges our existing loungewear wardrobe with a few elevated pieces, so we can add a touch of elegance whenever we decide to leave the house. We’re also drawn towards warm fall tones, embracing any little glimmer of summer colors before we head into winter.

Before investing in any pieces though, we’re shopping our own closets first and foremost—and shopping secondhand when we can. And when we do hit “buy,” it’s because these are the pieces we imagine ourselves wearing for many autumns to come! We’re using the below sustainable fashion moodboard for inspiration, and reaching for variations of these 18 high-quality, ethically made staples for fall.

If you’re embarking on a capsule wardrobe for the first time or want to get inspired by the variety of wardrobes people practice, check out our dive into what capsule wardrobes are here.
